Hello Freeman,

You have asked for transparency. That is normally on an About page. We do indeed have an About page: you can see three tabs at the top of the page - "Home", "Archive"" and "About." This is a basic -- and normal -- Substack site.

Please go to the "About" tab at the top of the page:, which I provide a direct link to here for ease of access: https://engagementcanadapledge.substack.com/about If you go the "About" page, you are then also presented with the very first post introducing the Info Hub. From either the "About" page or the Introduction, you are also reminded that is all linked to the Pledge for Canada and the link is given. I give it here again: https://engagement-canada-pledge.ca/ Every lead signatory (87 in total) and the launch committee are there.

We are volunteers. There are no "major financial backers." Just hours and hours and hours of free work.

Sincerely, Craig (one of the members of the Launch Committee whose Substack account is hosting the Pledge site).

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! I like what I've read so far. However, in these days of rampant propaganda, mis- and dis-in formatioin and manipulation of so-called «Social Media» by back-room billionaires, CREDIBILITY can ONLY be established if the backers of sites like this are VISIBLE. Please place a page, findable from your welcome page, which lists your PRINCIPALS and major financial donors. Otherwise, I, and many thinking readers will continue to be suspicious of what's really BEHIND this initiative. For evidence just take a look at the propaganda surrepititiously flogging M. Hair-of-the-Rabbit's fascist agenda.

There’s a complete list of those who started the Pledge right there on the Pledge page.

and sadly we have no donors yet - it’s all been volunteer and out of pocket - so far - but no donors to reveal and nothing to hide

I'll have another look. I scolled thru HUNDREDS of page and didn't see it. I still maintain it should be OBVIOUS — i.e. if you will, «in your face» for old fart luddites like me..

Yes. I’m sorry but I don’t know who wrote the preceding post.

Greetings from Massachusetts, where everyone I know is horrified, appalled, embarrassed, furious, and resisting any way we can. I spent the dark day of Jan. 20 in Montréal and will return this summer for the tennis tournament. We are still best friends and neighbors with you and very much admire your stance. One day, this will be a sad chapter in the history books, and we will repair fences. But for now, the goose triumphed over the eagle, and you all can vacation elsewhere. So very sorry.

The sad irony of the Molson Canadian Ad is that Molson Beer is currently listed among the donors to Donald Trump and to Project 2025. I sincerely hope that its not true, but.............

When are we going to flood the US media with data on how much drugs and firearms are coming north? we seem to be totally incompetent at putting facts in front of the US electorate. While bullshit from Trump is pouring over our news media, I see no hint of us pressing data south. We cannot win if we don't fight.

Canada Strong

Our world is changing

In ways that surprise

Where truth gets hidden

Under distortion and lies

When agreements are broken

The rules tossed aside

We know something’s been injured

It’s more than our pride

Our values now surface

Our essence appears

Our courage emerges

We harness our fears

We look in the mirror

We like what we see

While there’s room for improvement

We’re strong and we’re free

We see clearly what’s happening

We know right from wrong

We will build together

We are Canada Strong

I read today’s newsletter. If we are trying to correct mis/disinformation with the Americans, I think a good place to start is with the fact that there is virtually no fentanyl coming from Canada through the US border. This is one of Trump’s justifications for attempting to annex Canada.

Great point, Adrienne. I have yet to figure out why Canada has been so slow to counter with the facts on this apart from Ministers repeating how low the amount is. The Globe and Mail did a great investigative study and found -- low as it already was -- the US figures are out of whack and do not show even that small amount: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-white-house-misusing-fentanyl-data-to-justify-tariffs-globe/ > "The facts on fentanyl and the northern border: Trump’s White House is using misleading data about drug seizures and their links to Canada, a Globe investigation finds," by Kathryn Blaze Baum, Colin Freeze and Andrea Woo, The Globe and Mail, Toronto, Ottawa and Spokane, Wash. Published February 27, 2025. I have not seen the Government pick up this study and use it in messaging into the US -- which to be is a serious case of them dropping the ball.
